This year I was inspired by several articles in Better Homes & Gardens and Country Living and of course Pinterest, to take a natural approach to decorating this year. I was absolutely drawn to birds this year, particularly red ones. I will be posting over the next few days to detail the rooms in my home that we decorated this year. And I am saving the best for last! So stay tuned this week. First up the room you see immediately upon entering my home, where we spend time together and with our friends and watch our dogs do funny silly things with their toys, I introduce to you MY Living Room.
I am really happy with how this little vignette turned out. The figured where purchased at and after Christmas sale last year, and you may have seen the miniature leather chair before, but this our little Min Pins chair we found at a flea market and it just would not be complete without a festive pillow and blanket!
This is one of my favorite Nativity’s made by a local artisan and purchased at the one and only Christmas Village Fair here in Birmingham.
And the tree, O Christmas Tree… O Christmas Tree… Every year I say this is my favorite tree. But I truly feel that way every year. This year I focused on my most natural and bird inspired ornaments and rather than a tree skirt some toile and burlap make for a perfect tree skirt.
A closeup of the birds my sweet Mom sent me to incorporate in my tree.
This years homemade ornaments. I used miniature grapevine wreaths, some reindeer moss and miniature redbirds. Perfectly simple.
One of my favorite ornaments, a series from my hometown this one if my absolute favorite.
The reading nook.
Last view of the coffee table centerpiece.
Hope you enjoy and feel inspired! Stay tuned throughout the week for more Christmas updates in my home!
