Ok, so I have been working from my home office for about a year now. 🙂  But at this point truly what I had as a workspace simply was not working. It was a small student sized desk with a large computer screen, laptop and any papers I was working with. This = a big mess and no organization! So one random day in February I simply decided I had enough, I NEEDED MY SPACE! So I sat down that Friday night and laid out a simple solution of “adding on” to the current desk. A desk husband is particularly found of thus the reason I have been trying to put up with it.
Our mission was simple, create a small bookshelf like section to house the printer/scanner, shredder, laminator and shipping supplies and one continuous desk top that is 8 FEET LONG!!! Yes 8 ft ladies and gentlemen of pure unadulterated workspace!
While our biggest challenge was getting the 2 looks to meld, I knew the best solution would be to improvise and create a skirted effect to hide the obviously modern vs. traditional architecture. So please follow along with the images below as to how the transformation came about.
Please excuse the poor quality photos of the before and during photos they are from my phone.

And the overall organized desk and workspace. Â Complete with an magazine organizer, file organizer, plenty of free space to work, and ofourse my ACTION FILE, which Amanda LeBlanc from the Style Network Organizing Show says is an absolute must!
And finally, everything fits neatly in it’s place in the nifty bookcase we built into the end of the unit!
I am so please with myself and hubby for building, executing, and getting more organized in 2016!
Let me know what you think about the transformation and tell us what you are working on in your home to be more organized and productive!
