My friend Amy Catherine Wilson, an amazing artist, architect, and designer, has a painting featured in this months Southern Living and I wanted to share! AC and I worked together as product designers for 5 years and I learned so much from her. As a trained architect she has an incredible eye for interiors, color, proportion, and space so naturally her artwork is a reflection of that well groomed aesthetic. Take a look!

And a few more examples of her work currently featured on her blog Art by ACW | http://artbyacw.blogspot.com/. The great thing about AC’s paintings is while they are abstract, they represent something, usually something in nature. She did a Mississippi River series earlier this year that was amazing. Her work is usually done on very large canvases, like 24? and up, so if you have a big wall or space you need to fill, consider these!
And finally, we were lucky enough to commission her to do a piece for us this summer. It is based of a photo I took while in Africa. I just let her peruse my photos until she felt inspired, full creative freedom! Below is the photo, the small test canvas (if you commission a custom piece she will paint a smaller test painting for you to make sure the colors and proportions are pleasing to you) and the final piece, at 30 x 40, it’s a stunner in our living room:
